31 Day Challenge: Day 18

Welcome back!

Prompt: Half Moon

Gray: OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI
Dark Puple: OPI O Suzi Mio
Light Purple: OPI Purple Palazzo Pants
Blue: OPI Gelato On My Mind

So, I originally did different nails for today. But I hated them. They did not look right, so I changed it up this morning, and I love these. These are a slightly different sort of half moon, but I love the way they turned out! All of the polishes that I used were from the OPI Venice Collection. All it took for this look was a dotting tool, which is awesome because most half moon manicures take a sticker, so you have to wait forever for them to dry! These were quick, and they are so cute!

31 Day Challenge: Day 4

Welcome back!

Today's prompt: Green

White: Essie Blanc
Green: Essie Yespadrilles

I went simple today, and with something I don't do too often. I did a half moon manicure, and I used a new Essie Cashmere Matte Bright for the green. I really liked how it turned out! If the white looked better and shinier, I probably would've left it untopcoated, that way it was matte and shiny. It looked kind of cool that way!

China Glaze Spring Mix & Match

Welcome back!

I still have some of the China glaze Road Trip collection questions to try out, so I decided to do a mix-and-match with them! I love mixing and matching my nail vinyls with dots and different simple designs. I also like trying to find polishes from the same collection that go really well together. I think these worked great!

White: China Glaze White On White
Pink: China Glaze More To Explore
Blue: China Glaze My Way or the Highway

For the half moon and chevron nails, I used Nail Vinyls. For the dots, I just used my dotting tools in two different sizes.

May Weekly Nail Art Challenge: Week 1

Welcome back!

I've decided to do the Weekly Nail Art Challenge on Instagram this month! There are only 5 prompts, one for each Friday of the month, so I still get to do whatever I want the rest of the time!

This month's theme: Neons
This week's prompt: half moon

Since I'm not super huge into neons, I wanted to do this challenge to make me expand my polish use. I want to find a wearable ways to wear neon!

This week, I did my half moons by putting the neon underneath, and then putting white on top. That way the whole nail isn't too bright, but it makes a cool pop of color up by the cuticle!

Green: China Glaze Treble Maker
White: China Glaze White on White

#NailArtApr: Day 30

Welcome back!

Today's prompt: accent!

I wanted to do two accent nails for this, because the past two manicures I did only had one accent nail, and I was ready for a change.

Marroon/Purple: OPI Sleigh Parking Only
White: OPI Alpine Snow

I started by paint all nails in Sleigh Parking Only, then applying a quick dry top coat. Once the top coat had dried, I used Nail Vinyls and the white to make the accent nails.

31 Day Challenge: Day 18

Welcome back!

Today's theme: half moons!

I wanted to use some new polishes again today, so I went with two from Claire's. The pink is called Pink Convertible and the glitter is called White Hot. The pink was not very good. The formula sucked, I used three coats, and it still was streaky and patchy. The glitter though...it was amazing. I absolutely fell in love with this glitter. It is bigger glitter, but applies so evenly and is just gorgeous.

I wanted to do a subtle half moon, because sometimes I don't care for the half moon in general. I find that it can be a little harsh and if the right colors aren't used, (which was me last year) then it doesn't look good. I decided that to prevent mismatched colors, or harshness, I would do glitter on top of a color. Fortunately, it turned out really well! Unfortunately, it didn't photograph really well. I did my best though, and took different angles so that you could see it better.

Overall, I like this look! I'd like to try this with different color and glitter combinations.

31 Day Nail Challenge: Day 18

Day Eighteen: Half Moon

NYC in Big Apple Red
Wet n Wild Megalast in Club Havana

I know...I'm behind again :(

Anyway, this was a super easy one to do, but I decided to do a tutorial on it, just because. There are a lot out there, but I wanted to make one of my own, especially showing off the colors that I picked.

I tried to go with a "fall" theme, hence the red and orange. Kind of like leaves. I have also never used either of these polishes until now. I really liked the red one, but the orange was just okay. It was kind of streaky, and you could see brushstrokes, especially toward the tips of the nails.

I'm also not as big of a fan of the colors on the nail as I was when I held the bottles right next to each other.
