31 Day Nail Challenge: Day 21

Day Twenty-One: Inspired by Color (Pink)

Base colors--
     Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Straw-Ready
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Petal Pusher
Spoiled by Wet n Wild in Tip Your Waitress
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Gone Grey
     OPI in DS Radiance
Top colors--
     Ulta in Starry Night
Kiss Nail Art in Beach Pink
Kiss Nail Art in Silver Glitter
Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat in Coral Collide
Sally Hansen Gem Crush in Razzle Dazzler

I did what I do when I am "inspired" by a color. I use that color as much as possible, with different designs, shades, and a couple neutral colors thrown in.

There were 4 polishes I had never used that I used on this one.

  1. Ulta in Starry Night--This was the glitter that I used on my thumb. I really liked it, and it was not horrible price! Most chunky glitters that I find are $8 or $9. This was only $6, or free, since I bought it on buy two get one free...
  2. Spoiled in Tip Your Waitress--This was a hot pink color, which I have not bought one of in a long time! It was really good, plus it was mostly matte. Which is different for a bright color.
  3. Crackle in Coral Collide--I have used Crackle polishes by Sally Hansen before. But this one has a shimmery finish, which the others were just shiny or even matte. I liked the color, but because of the sheerness, it made it hard to apply thick enough in one stroke.
  4. Gem Crush in Razzle Dazzler--I liked the Gem Crush! It was pretty much just like any other glitter polish that you can get, however.

31 Day Nail Challenge: Day 20

Day Twenty: Water Marbled

Sinful Colors in Snow Me White
NYC in Big Apple Red
China Glaze in Papaya Punch
Zoya in Darcy
Essie in Little Brown Dress

I am so behind. And it frustrates me. But I WILL catch up. I am at least going to make sure that I do them all, even if they are on the wrong day.

So, this was harder than I thought, and took some practice. But, after a couple tries, it finally worked out! My ring finger looks the best, if you ask me.

I was going for a fall color scheme. It turned out okay, especially the ring finger :)

I plan to try this again, though, and try to get better designs, because that makes a HUGE difference.

Sorry it's so messy, and late...

31 Day Nail Challenge: Day 19

Day Nineteen: Galaxy

China Glaze in Seniorita Bonita
China Glaze in Blue Iguana
Covergirl Outlast in Black Diamond
Kiss Nail Art in Silver Glitter

Yay for another tutorial!!! :) Boo for being late still... :(

I liked them, until I did the silver. Then they were just okay. Next time, I'm doing something different for the "star" part. Like a sequin.

  1. Apply a solid, black nail polish. I used Covergirl Outlast's Black Diamond. Make sure there are no streaky spots.
  2. Pick a blue, preferably a thinner, shimmery blue, and drop a couple drops on another surface. With the cut off corner of a makeup sponge, dip it in the blue, then dab on the nail in various places. I used China Glaze's Blue Iguana.
  3. Repeat step 2 with a purple polish. I used China Glaze's Seniorita Bonita.
  4. With a densely glittered polish, apply a coupe dots to the nail. With a paint brush, diffuse the dots out a little, and make them less dense.
And that's all!

31 Day Nail Challenge: Day 18

Day Eighteen: Half Moon

NYC in Big Apple Red
Wet n Wild Megalast in Club Havana

I know...I'm behind again :(

Anyway, this was a super easy one to do, but I decided to do a tutorial on it, just because. There are a lot out there, but I wanted to make one of my own, especially showing off the colors that I picked.

I tried to go with a "fall" theme, hence the red and orange. Kind of like leaves. I have also never used either of these polishes until now. I really liked the red one, but the orange was just okay. It was kind of streaky, and you could see brushstrokes, especially toward the tips of the nails.

I'm also not as big of a fan of the colors on the nail as I was when I held the bottles right next to each other.

31 Day Nail Challenge: Day 17

Day Seventeen: Glitter

Milani Jewel FX in Gold

I was so excited to try this nail polish. I bought it after seeing it on a couple Youtube channels. It looked like what I was looking for in a glitter polish. And it is! I love this polish. There are only large pieces of glitter, like sequins, not just the shimmer and thin kind. After dabbing on a couple layers, most of my nail was covered. I decided I wanted to use it solo, not as a top coat (mostly because I didn't know what color would look good with it.)

Overall, I love it, and recommend it HIGHLY.

31 Day Nail Challenge: Day 16

Day Sixteen: Tribal Print

Wet n Wild Wild Shine in Sunny Side Up
Kiss Nail Art in Black

I only used two colors for my tribal print, while many people use multiple colors. I decided to keep it simple, because I have never attempted the tribal print nails before this.

Again, I was inspired by some that I saw on Pinterest (because tribal nails are impossible to avoid on there) but I was not trying to replicate any of them.

31 Day Nail Challenge: Day 15

Day Fifteen: Delicate Print

Essence Color & Go in Off to Miami
Kiss Nail Art in White

Well, I was finally a day late. :(

I tried to make this one appear as if it were lace. I was inspired by a manicure I saw on Pinterest, but I was not trying to replicate it.

It did not turn out as good as I hoped, and this was the best nail of them all, unfortunately.
