Christmas 2015: Red and Green Galaxies

Welcome back!

I wanted to continue my year-long Galaxy nail series with the Christmas edition!

Black: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Black to Black
White: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri OMGhost
Red: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri-Dri Rapid Red
Green: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri I-Rush Luck
Small Gold Glitter: Avon Gingerbread Scented
Large Glitter: OPI I Reached My Gold

These were so much for me to do! I've always liked galaxy nails, and I made it through a whole year of doing them for every holiday! Well, aside from New Year, or New Year's Eve.

Christmas 2015: Dangling Ornaments

Welcome back!

Last year when I got done with Christmas designs, I thought of a couple of things I never did. Ornaments was one of them! I wasn't sure exactly how I was going to do them, but then I got my vinyls in the mail, and there were ornaments in the holiday pack I ordered! This design was inspired by @DripDropNails on Instagram.

White: OPI Alpine Snow
Red: OPI Cinnamon Sweet
Green: OPI Christmas Gone Plaid
Gold: OPI 50 Years of Style
Black: OPI Black Onyx

Ornament Vinyls: Snail Vinyls

These turned out pretty cute, and I wish I could have worn them longer! I got sick, though, and had to take them off quickly to get more looks in before Christmas.

Christmas 2015: Holly and Splatter

Welcome back!

I wanted to do something a little different for this nail art look. I decided the accent of a splatter nail or two complemented the holly and bell nails well.

White: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri OMGhost
Red: OPI Ro-man-ce On the Moon
Green: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri I-rush Luck
Gold: Essie Good As Gold

To do the splatter nails, I used coffee stirrer straws, because I heard from someone they work better, and they definitely do! The rest was freehanded.

Christmas 2015: Trees

Welcome back!

These trees were a great, cute idea. They were festive, and people thought they were cute. Well, what they saw of them. The only problem is that they came off super quickly, because I wasn't able to top coat due to the flocking powder.

Cream: OPI My Vampire is Buff
Red: OPI Ro-Man-Ce On The Moon
Green: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri I-rush Luck
Glitter: Pure Ice Bling On The Holidays

Flocking Powder: Bundle Monster
Studs: Sally Beauty "Oh So Easy"
Stripping Tape: Amazon

For the trees, I put top coat on top of the base polish, and let it dry completely. Once it was dry, I used two pieces of tape and made a triangle shape. I painted it with a thick coat of green polish, and removed the tape immediately. Before the polish could dry, I dropped some flocking powder on it. To top the trees, I used some studs and stripping tape.

Halloween 2015: Haunted House Accent

Welcome back!

Today I did my first very Halloween-y manicure! I really wanted to do a plastic bag nail, so I used that and a simple dotticure so I could feature my haunted house on my index finger.

White: China Glaze White On White
Black: China Glaze Liquid Leather
Orange: China Glaze Home Sweet House Music
Gold: Pure Ice Studette

This was really simple to do. I used a medium-small sized dotting tool for the middle finger dotticure, and a nail art brush from Winstonia to paint the haunted house on my index finger. The ring finger and thumb were the plastic bag method!

Black and Gold Line Work

Welcome back!

I'm finally back with more nail art! I painted these a couple of days ago, I just never got the chance to post them. I've seen this design all around before, but I don't know who the original creator is. This was really simple to do!

Black: OPI Black Onyx
Gold: OPI Liquid Sand Honey Ryder
White Striper: Salon Perfect Nail Art White Out
Gold Striper: Salon Perfect Nail Art Gold Sparkle

For this design, I started with the black base, and then freehanded the lines on there with a white striper.  Once that was dry, I went over the lines with the gold striper. I went over some areas twice just to make sure the gold was opaque enough.

Since the nails are mostly black, these are a little Halloween-y! I like how they are classy, too, though!

31 Day Challenge: Day 25

Welcome back!

Prompt: Inspired by Fashion

Gray: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Show Steel-er
Orange: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Pumpkin Queen
Gold: Sally Hansen Color Foil Liquid Gold

I know, I'm finally behind. And I hate it! But I'm working on catching up. I went home for the weekend to visit family, and I was so busy that by the time I went to get in bed at night, when I would normally do my nails, I was too tired! I'm going to get caught up quickly, though, and I'd like to still finish on time!

These nails were inspired by a dress I saw from New York Fashion Week from this Fall 2015. The picture can be found below!

31 Day Challenge: Day 21

Welcome back!

Prompt: Inspired by a Color

Glitter: OPI Baroque...But Still Shopping!
Gray: OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI
Green: Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Tan Lime
Gold: Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Golden-I

The color that inspired me was the glitter polish that I have on my pointer and pinky fingers. It is from the new OPI Venice collection. I love it! The color itself is beautiful, and I love the way I was inspired. I made my middle and ring fingers look like money floating around, because it talks about shopping! I don't know why, but this is just what I was feeling, and what I got inspired to do, and since that is the prompt of the day, I went with it.

Mani By Annie: School Spirit Single Chevron & Glitter

Welcome back!

My sister needed her nails repainted the other day, and so she decided she wanted something to support her husband's soccer team that he coaches!

White: OPI Alpine Snow
Purple: OPI Do You Have This Color in Stock-holm?
Glitter: Milano Jewel FX Gold
Striper: Salon Perfect Nail Art Striper Gold Sparkle

The school colors are purple and gold, so I went with just two accent nails and painted the rest a solid purple. The accent nails included one nail of all gold glitter which I sponged on using a latex free cosmetic sponge. The chevron nail was done by painting a white base to start, then using the single chevron vinyls from nailvinyls.com. Once those were on, I painted purple on top, and removed the vinyls. To add the glitter, I used the striping polish and just traced the lines with it to add a little more fun to it.

Fourth of July: Fireworks

Welcome back!

I love the Fourth of July. I especially love the fireworks! This year, I got to be up close to them, because my boyfriend is afirefighter and they have to stay close to be ready in case they're needed. I had these special nails!

Black: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Night Fright
White: L.A. Colors Art Deco Striper
Red: Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Striper Red
Blue: Milani Nail Art Blue Print
Gold: Salon Perfect Nail Art Gold Sparkle

I really loved how amazing these turned out! I usually don't say much good about my nails, but these were good and they were so easy to do!

St. Patrick's Day: Galaxy Nails

Welcome back!

After doing my Valentine's Day galaxy nails, I was inspired to do more galaxy nails that were themed for different holidays, seasons and events. I've done Valentine Galaxies and Winterized Galaxies. Today, I have some St. Patrick's Day Galaxies for you!

Black: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Night Fright
White: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri OMGhost
Dark Green: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri I-Rush Luck
Green: China Glaze I'm With the Lifeguard
Light Green: Maybelline The Color Show Bleached Neons Lime Accent
Fine Gold Glitter: Avon Snowman (from years ago)
Chunky Gold Glitter: Pure Ice Bling on the Holidays

I did these just like any other galaxies. I started by painting the nails black, then added a quick dry top coat. Once it was dry, I sponged on the white, then all three greens, starting with the darkest, and going lighter. Next I put on the fine glitter, and then used the chunky glitter and picked out the largest pieces to make "stars." Finally, I used white polish to create a few shamrock "stars" on the nails.

St. Patrick's Day: Pot of Gold

Welcome back!

Today's manicure was a pot of gold and coins! I used all Essie polishes for this one!

Green: Vices Versa
White: Blanc
Black: Licorice
Gold: Good As Gold
Silver: No Place Like Chrome
Bronze: Penny Talk

For all nails, I used dotting tools to make the different designs. I really liked the way this turned out! I used the different chrome colors for the dots on my middle finger and thumb to try to make it look like different kinds of coins being used.

St. Patrick's Day: Shamrocks & Chevron

Welcome back!

My nails today are my first St. Patrick's day nails of the year! I did shamrocks, with an accent chevron nail.

White: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri OMGhost
Green: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri I-rush Luck
Gold: OPI 50 Years of Style

The chevrons were done using nail vinyls. I did a white base, put down the vinyls, and then painted green. I free-handed the gold accent. All of the shamrocks were done using different size dotting tools.

#NailArtJan Day 14

Welcome back!

The prompt for Day 14 was "new technique."

I originally tried to do the reverse stamping method, but that was an awful fail. So, I switched techniques! I ended up trying the spotted watermarble technique.

I started by painting a base color on my nails. I used OPI My Dogsled is a Hybrid, from the Nordic collection. For the watermarble part, all you do it drop a few drops of polish in the water, just like you would with a regular water marble, but the polish drops are all the same color. I used OPI's OPI With A Nice Finn-ish from the Nordic collection. Next, take a spray bottle with something in it (I used water) and spray the surface a couple of times until you have the desired look. Then, you just have to continue like with any water marble. You dip your finger in, clean up the surface, and then pull it out!

It was simple, but look awesome! And I loved how easy it was.

31 Day Nail Challenge: Day 17

Day Seventeen: Glitter

Milani Jewel FX in Gold

I was so excited to try this nail polish. I bought it after seeing it on a couple Youtube channels. It looked like what I was looking for in a glitter polish. And it is! I love this polish. There are only large pieces of glitter, like sequins, not just the shimmer and thin kind. After dabbing on a couple layers, most of my nail was covered. I decided I wanted to use it solo, not as a top coat (mostly because I didn't know what color would look good with it.)

Overall, I love it, and recommend it HIGHLY.
