Baseball Nails 2015 #6: OPI Umpires Come Out At Night

Welcome back!

Here are some more late post nails from the first of September that I did when my dad and I went to our last baseball game of the season! Well, at least more than likely. I moved out of state temporarily, and so I don't know when I can get home to go to another game until next summer. So for now, I'm just going to assume it was my last game until spring!

Anyway, I wanted to do something even more fun than my last few nail art designs that I did for baseball games, so I did three accent nails! Do they count as accent nails when there is more than there are solid nails? Anywho, I did a plastic bag nail, a chevron nail, and of course a baseball nail!

White: OPI Alpine Snow
Blue: OPI Umpires Come Out At Night
Red: Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Pen Red

The chevron nail was done using regular chevron nail vinyls. They can be found here.

Baseball Nails 2015 #5: OPI Short-Stop!

Welcome back!

The other night I went to another baseball game with my family, so I decided to do more baseball nails in honor of it! I needed a chance to change my nails again.

The polish I used was OPI Short-STOP! I used two coats of polish here. It was a great formula, but I felt like it was a very typical red. It was a cream formula, so removal wasn't bad because I didn't have to worry about it being a mess.

I used OPI Alpine Snow and Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Pen in Red. I used Nail Vinyls in order to make the chevrons on my middle nail. These were the mini chevrons.

Baseball Nails 2015 #4: OPI Right Off the Bat

Welcome back!

I went to another baseball game yesterday, so I of course did more baseball nails! I can't help myself when it comes to having a reason to paint my nails, and baseballs are so much fun!

I got a little more creative this time, adding in some chevrons, too! For the blue, I used OPI Right Off the Bat, also from their Fashion Plate collection from last summer. I really liked this polish! It only took two coats, went on smooth, and looks good! It is the tiniest bit streaky, but you can't see that on the chevron nail, which is good. It is sort of a metallic polish. It isn't a pure cream, but it's not really very shimmery, either. It does give off that metallic feel because of the streaks, though.

I felt like this was pretty similar to OPI Feeling Treemendous, but it was a little bit darker than that, and maybe not quite as shimmery. I really liked this color though, and the formula was good overall!

For the white, I used OPI Alpine Snow and and the red stitches were done using the Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Pen in Red. I used mini chevron Nail Vinyls.

Mani By Annie: St. Louis Cardinals Nails

Welcome back!

Today I wanted to share some nails that I did on my sister a few days ago! She requested some festive baseball nails based on several pictures she had seen on Pinterest.

White: OPI Alpine Snow
Red: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Rapid Red
Silver: Pure Ice

I used Nail Vinyls for the chevrons that can be found here. The STL decal was bought from @lashesfordaysblog on Instagram. Her website is here.

Baseball Nails 2015 #3: OPI Girls Love Diamonds

Welcome back!

Yesterday I went to another baseball game! I tried out a new OPI from the MLB collection from last year. It's called Girls Love Diamonds.

I definitely thought this polish was going to be more white. Instead, it was much more silver, but the more coats I did, the whiter it looked. I did have to do 4 coats of this in order for it to be opaque. It still never looked like it did in the bottle.

This polish is full of micro shimmer, so taking it off was miserable, because I got the shimmer everywhere. The formula was pretty sheer, but not hard to work with. It wasn't super thin or thick, so that was nice.

I like this polish, but its probably better as just an accent nail or for nail art.

Baseball Nails 2015 #2: OPI Love Athletes in Cleats

Welcome back!

It's more baseball nails for me today as I head to a game! My first one of the season!

The polish that I used for the red was OPI Love Athletes in Cleats, from their MLB collection that came out last summer. I didn't ever use this as a polish, I just did nail art with it, so I had no idea what the formula would be like.

Thankfully, it was amazing! I love this polish. It applied so smooth and even, and is gorgeous. There is some shimmer/sheen to it that is truly not like any that I myself own. I love finding polishes like this. No one really ever talked about these last year, but with the couple I have tried so far, I am impressed.

The white is OPI Alpine Snow and the red stitches were done with the Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Pen in Red.

Baseball Nails 2015: #1 OPI 7th Inning Strrretch

Welcome back!

Today I have some extremely simple baseball nails that I did since baseball has officially begun! I will probably be doing a lot baseball nails, as I always do them for games that I attend, and I also have some of the OPI MLB polishes from last summer that I have been wanting to use during baseball season!

Blue: OPI 7th Inning Strrretch
White: OPI Alpine Snow
Red: Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Pen Red

These were super simple. My biggest tip and trick that I have learned is to make sure you put down top coat after putting the white on, but before drawing on the red. Then be sure to top cost again when you are done. The top coat between gives a smooth surface to write on that will not pull polish off when dragging it on the nail. The coat on top is absolutely necessary, because otherwise the design will wash off with water.

The blue polish was pretty good! I used 2 coats, and it has a great formula. You can see the lines, and it is not a cream. It is sort of metallic looking, so you just have to be careful with your brushstrokes in order to avoid them being visible. I really like it, but it chipped really quickly and wore on the tips, even with my usual top coat that I do not ever have these problems with.
